STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- The FDNY has rescued a worker who fell into a hole at a construction site on Victory Boulevard in Travis on Thursday morning.
The worker with minor injuries is being transported to Richmond University Medical Center in West Brighton, a spokesman for the FDNY/EMS said.
The fall was reported at 9:51 a.m. at 4325 Victory Blvd., according to a spokesman for the FDNY/EMS. The location is a Con Edison substation.
FDNY personnel on the scene rescued the man from the hole, which was about seven feet deep, and prepared him for transportation to a hospital, the spokesman said.
FDNY radio transmissions indicated that the victim was a construction worker who fell into a trench at that location and that Rescue 5 was among the many units on the scene.
