We are very sadden to hear the news of three firefighters killed while battling the ‪#‎TwispFire‬ in Washington.
An additional four firefighters transported with injuries but conditions unknown.
It is unclear which agency the firefighters are a part of - but our deepest sympathy goes to their families, friends and colleagues.

‪#‎LAFD‬ firefighters have been fortunate enough to visit with Damien and provide our support. We invite you to let him know how many people care and appreciate his service.

At 9:47AM, your ‪#‎LAFD‬ ‪#‎firefighters‬ responded to a natural gas line damaged during the demo of a home in ‪#‎BoyleHeights‬. Precautionary evacuation of one apartment building handled by LAFD while ‪#‎SoCalGas‬crew working to close off damaged line.
No injuries reported and occupants evacuated will be able to return once gas line is secured.
The damaged line is less than 1" in size and the crews estimate having it capped by 11:15AM. ^MS

‪#‎Brushfires‬ are very much on our mind in California but as difficult as it's been, we have limited loss of life.
Sadly, two firefighters were killed but no civilian brush fire deaths is an important fact given the breadth and intensity of the fight.
On this day, in 1949, the Landes Mountain Brush Fire in Southwestern France burned over 256,000 acres and killed 240 people. 82 of those were firefighters.

The scruffy little thing is making lots of friends and getting her belly filled with tasty formula. Her eyes aren't opening quite yet but that isn't far behind.
We are very thankful for the generous service of the dedicated staff at The Animal Rescue Alliance, ‪#‎TARA‬, in Chatsworth. They are taking great care of Dozercat!

Sadly, the ninth fire related fatality of 2015 in Los Angeles came early morning on Sunday August 16, 2015. While witnesses report the usage of candles in the home, the case is under investigation and a confirmed cause has not been released.

Structure Fire at 9010 Tobias Ave., Panorama City; MAPhttps://goo.gl/maps/E3s4i ; FS 007; 3 story apartment fire with a small contents fire on 1st floor; 30 Firefighters quickly extinguished fire within 17 minutes. There were working smoke alarms that alerted the occupants to safely evacuate. Candles were deemed the cause of the fire. No injuries reported to Civilians or Firefighters. 5 adults were displaced and the American Red Cross is assisting with accommodations. ^DO###
