A city firefighter and his city ambulance technician sister were arrested after a brawl with NYPD officers in a Brooklyn park early Sunday, police said.
Cops attempting to break up a skirmish at Herbert Von King Park in Bedford-Stuyvesant about 12:20 a.m. were pulled into another fistfight when the FDNY emergency medical technician took a swing at one of the responding officers, police said.
As cops arrested Kenshawn Felton, 20, in an earlier assault, ambulance tech Janice Gardner, 35, punched an officer twice with a closed fist, sources said.
Her brother, Firefighter Aaron Gardner, 36, jumped in as his sister was taken into police custody and also tried to punch a cop, authorities said. The situation escalated, and at its height, 30 cops were on the scene, sources said.
The initial fight, which was allegedly over a woman, left a 47-year-old man with cuts to his head and body and another man, 22, with head wounds after he was bludgeoned with a wooden stick, authorities said.
“It was an absolute melee. People were tossing over barbecues, bottles were being thrown at cops,” a source said.
Felton was charged with assault, resisting arrest and possession of a weapon, police said. The Gardners were charged with assault, resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration. Two other people were issued disorderly conduct summonses.
