A look at the regions of origin of the nay-sayers shows: Especially many dissenters come from Baden-Württemberg, North Rhine-Westphalia and the former East Germany. Although the CDU regional associations in Baden-Württemberg and North Rhine-Westphalia are already particularly strong. But MEPs from Baden-Württemberg and eastern Germany in the group of dissenters are clearly overrepresented. Countries in the north of Germany, however, are hardly represented. Also, among the rebel Union particularly many men - their share is significantly higher than the men's share in the parliamentary group. 
The threat of the party leader Volker Kauder, the dissidents continue to deny a seat on the European and the Budget Committee, to secure the majority vote in the important committees, concerns a total of ten potential nay-sayers.
