Dads. Yes, they may bumble along, but every now and then, employing unconventional and untested methods, they ninja in and save the day.

  • Chris Strozier Very good point. Most people will just joke and say. "He's built like an Engineer". Our profession, this profession is looked at everyday by other members of the FD community and Civilians. How does it look and what type of example is being set when you, as a fireman are over weight and out of shape.

    Fitness, fitness, fitness.
I want to share with you an organization called Warrior Canine Connection.
WCC's mission is to help wounded Warriors reconnect with their lives, families, and each other utilizing the human-animal bond as a therapeutic intervention.
WCC names all of their puppies after individuals who have made a profound impact on the world.

There are many things that go into making a successful career in the fire service.
How important is fitness?
"Our department makes 1,120 calls per day.
Do you know how many of those calls the public expects perfection on? 1,120.
Nobody ever calls the fire department and says, 'Send me 2 dumb-ass firefighters in a pick-up truck'.

  • Trevor Tremblay That happened to me once me and my wife had just ordered our supper. The pager went of (I'm a volunteer) the call was a VSA. After the call I went back to meet my wife. We had a good meal and when the waiter brought us our bill she said a customer had paid for our meal.
  • Pete Rubel Great story. Wish more of this would go on instead of the BS that's running rampant with our brothers and sisters in blue
