Poland's manufacturing sector purchasing managers' index PMI a gauge of manufacturing, rose by 1.9 pts month on month to 54.3 points in June after a 1.6 pts decrease in the previous month, marking the first increase since January, a report by Markit showed.

"The health of the Polish manufacturing economy improved markedly in June," the report said. "Growth rates for output, new orders and purchasing all accelerated since May, and employment growth was maintained at a solid, albeit slower, pace."

The June increase in PMI was supported by four out of five index components, the exception being employment.

Manufacturing orders were on the rise for the ninth consecutive month, and the "rate of expansion accelerated for the first time since the start of the year," the report reads. This acceleration was driven by domestic demand, Markit said.

Output grew at a strongest pace since January and the firms' purchasing activity accelerated, leading to the fastest rate of input inventory growth since February 2012.
