Today, we join other Home Team Departments in paying tribute to our Pioneers for their contributions over the long years of their service. This tribute event held at Home Team Academy this morning was graced by DPM Teo Chee Hean.
The event witnessed the presentation of Home Team SG50 Commemorative Plaques to each Home Team Department. Our Home Team Pioneers also received commemorative medallions for their service.

SCDF took part in the ASEAN Regional Forum Disaster Relief Exercise (ARF DiREx) 2015, held at Malaysia recently. The ARF DiREx 2015 aims to test the civil-military coordination efforts in response to a large-scale disaster. SCDF worked with international Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) teams in executing the Field Training Exercise. The Home Team Promotion Ceremony, held at Orchard Hotel yesterday, was officiated by Deputy Prime Minister Mr Teo Chee Hean. A total of 390 SCDF officers will be promoted this year.
One of whom is LTC Daniel Seet, who immediately signed on as a Regular officer after completing his National Service in the SCDF. LTC Daniel pursued his university studies during his service and through his exemplary performance and conduct, rose to the rank of Colonel within 15 years.

HomeTeamNS (HTNS) REAL Run, touted as Singapore's toughest 10km race, enters its 20th year today. This year's run is extra special as we also commemorate 10 years of HomeTeamNS and 40 years of Police NS as part of SG50 celebrations.
Celebrating 20 years of HTNS REAL Run, 20 officers from SCDF and SPF ran a 5km Torch Relay. It is the first torch group relay to honour the contributions of 180,000 Home Team NSmen towards the safety and security of Singapore.

Imagine an accident involving a hazardous chemical tanker and other vehicles on Tuas Second Link, between Singapore and Malaysia; how would emergency response agencies from both countries react?
In a joint exercise organised by the National Environment Agency (NEA) and Department of Environment (DOE) Malaysia, a total of 24 agencies from Singapore and Malaysia worked together to tackle a simulated chemical spill incident. This exercise serves to enhance the capabilities of emergency response agencies, should this happen.

DART Commander, LTC Chew Keng Tok, recounts the challenges faced in a complex rescue operation on a man whose right hand was stuck in a toilet drainage pipe last Sunday.
Rescuers from Jurong Fire Station and DART took 4 hours to carefully free Mr Poh using special rescue equipment. We wish Mr Poh a speedy recovery.
