“One of the things I enjoy most as Fire Commissioner is seeing our high school graduates go on to have successful careers in the FDNY ,” Fire Commissioner Daniel Nigro said. “Seeing young men and women grow to become EMTs, Paramedics, Firefighters and leaders in the FDNY, watching you find your true calling in this Department, just as I did as a young man is exhilarating.”
From this year’s class, 6 of the students will participate in the FDNY EMS Academy Summer EMT Certification Program, with two more scheduled to take part in the winter program later this year. In addition, 31 students will attend college in the fall and one student will be serving in the United States Armed Forces.
