The acting Councillor for Health in the Junta de Andalucía, María José Sánchez Rubio, yesterday rejected the criteria and affirmed ‘in no case can the sexual orientation condition being a blood donor’.
The Andalucía Heath Service will continue to take blood whatever the sexual orientation of the donor.

The GDP for the first quarter of the year was up 0.9 % compared to the last quarter of 2014, and takes the annual growth level to 2.6%, an increase last seen at the end of 2007, and it has led to two years expansion, after two previous years of recession. The Government expects growth to be ‘around 3% in 2018.
