Charlotte, NC Local 660 member Kimani Long will participate in the Badwater 135 Ultramarathon also known as the “World’s Toughest Foot Race” helping to raise funds for the Firefighter Cancer Support Network. Proceeds will help support the Charlotte Fire Fighter Charities. The Badwater course navigates through Death Valley where temperatures range between 120-130 degrees. The Ultramarathon is July 28.

Host Analytics presented the IAFF with a $5,000 donation to the IAFF Charitable Foundation during the Host Analytics World Conference in San Francisco last week. Pictured are Host Analytics Chief Marketing Officer Lance Walter, San Mateo County, CA Local 2400 President John Wurdinger and IAFF Assistant for Budget and Finance Warren May. The donation will benefit the IAFF Burn Fund and International Burn Camp. Host Analytics provides the IAFF with software for preparing annual budgets and financial reporting throughout the year.

Claremore Local 1077 member, Captain Jason Farley, died in the line of duty this weekend while performing a water rescue. His wife and 15-year-old daughter were in Ireland at the time. They returned home to Tulsa late last evening. The video clip shows the line of emergency vehicles that lined the route from the airport back to their home. Service details are pending.
