Today, we are announcing that on May 6, NYC firefighters and police officers will march up the Canyon of Heroes to City Hall where we will ask Mayor de Blasio and Speaker Mark-Viverito to stop perpetuating inequality among NY's Finest and Bravest.#standwithbravest

!['Rest in Peace FF Greg Chevalley, L-176 who died today in the line of duty from Lung Cancer sustained while operating at the World Trade Center on/after 9/11/01. Greg was a true hero, for this City and Country. In 2010, he rescued a civilian in a fire (http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/firefighters-save-choking-smoke-flames-raging-bedford-stuyvesant-blaze-article-1.193973). Word of his illness came out of nowhere and kicked in fast. On November 6th, 2014, his brother firefighters put together a fundraiser at Mulcahy's on Long Island. @[492465197497698:274:NYC Fire Wire] staff were present and I swear, so was every other off-duty FDNY firefighter and their friends. The hall was standing room only, literally. Greg saw how many were standing with him in his battle. And now it is time for the Tin House Truck to hoist Greg on their shoulders amongst his brothers. Greg is a hero taken way before his time, because of his dedication to saving others. We will post the details when they are released.'](https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xfa1/v/t1.0-9/p118x90/22823_833241956753352_4935109456971184852_n.jpg?oh=05e26cdca5e33141d6f7a1c078265c5b&oe=55CCE5EF&__gda__=1436264833_feaea240ae2a98c3cf1f59af888feaf2)
