After a day and a half’s wait at the airport in New Dehli, the Belgian B-Fast emergency team has finally arrived in the Nepalese capital Kathmandu. The B-Fast team is specialised in discovering victims buried under rubble.

Three Humbolt Penguin chicks have been born at the Sea Life attraction park in the West Flemish coastal resort of Blankenberge. Although, the chicks were born in the last few weeks, Sea Life only announced their birth on Monday.

The Battle of Tacámbaro in Mexico is a piece of forgotten Belgian history that not many people know of. Because of the link with the East-Flemish city of Oudenaarde, it is also dubbed 'Oudenaarde's public secret'. Something many were ashamed of, especially in wartime, but now it's all water under the bridge thanks to the successful exchange with a Mexican delegation.

      Jelle Veyt is one of the Belgians who were climbing Mount Everest during the earthquake in Nepal. Mr Veyt was almost crushed by an avalanche at the moment of the tremor. He says that all climbers have been evacuated, but that there's a tense atmosphere at basecamp. "I'm sleeping with my clothes on, and I keep my helmet and shoes by my side at all time. I'm ready to get out of here at any moment."
