Something New- A Snow Warning from Con Ed

This is of course really " stealth advertising" from Con Ed..

It reminds of the phrase " CBS Cares" that Craig Ferguson used to mock all the time...

Nevertheless, safety reminders are always appropriate

7 Ways to Stay Safe in Snow
Bad weather can cause outages. We're prepared.
Here's how you can be ready, too:
1.Report power problems right away at 1-800-75-CONED (1-800-752-6633)or conEd.com, or with our My conEdison app for Droid or Apple devices.
2.Check our outage map to verify whether we know about your power problem.
3.Sign up for our text message service by texting REG to OUTAGE (688243). Then, if you lose power, text OUT to OUTAGE. Get details
4.Make sure your flashlights and battery-operated radios work.
5.If you lose power, turn off lights and unplug appliances so circuits don’t overload when power is restored.
6.Stay clear of downed power lines – they may be live and dangerous.
7.Use candles and lanterns carefully. Keep them out of drafts, away from flammable materials, and out of the reach of children.
Remember, if you smell gas, act fast. Call 911 or 1-800-75-CONED (1-800-752-6633).
