The Brazilian Supreme Court gave the green light Friday, March 6 in the evening, to investigate the involvement of dozens of 34 MPs (12 senators and 22 deputies) in the corruption scandal in the oil company Petrobras.
In total, nearly 49 politicians in office or who are older who are named in the investigation of a generalized system of pots of wine, paid for ten years by major construction companies the country Petrobras officials in exchange for lucrative contracts and having partly benefited the Workers Party (PT) of President Dilma Rousseff and numerous elected officials or parties in his parliamentary coalition by the statements of some "repentant "who leaked to the press.
"The evidence of illegality"
The Attorney General of the Republic, Rodrigo Janot, had reported Tuesday night of a list of 54 people, which could be the subject of an investigation, under cover of confidentiality of investigations. He had asked the Supreme Court to lift the secrecy to determine responsibility in this sensational scandal that would have generated a loss of $ 4 billion over 10 years for the country's flagship company.
"The introduction of investigations was considered viable because there is evidence of illegality," said the Supreme Court, at the same time allowing the lifting of the parliamentary immunity of some of those involved.
On this occasion, the list of these was unveiled, shaking a little over the Workers Party and the ruling coalition. Among the suspects appear in fact the presidents of the Senate and the House of Representatives, members of the government coalition.
