President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner has fiercely criticised the trade union leaders behind a 24-hour general strike, asserting that adhesion to the measure would have been far lower if public transport had functioned as normal.

Nisman case: board of coroners suspended

Transport workers and allied groups from both pro- and anti-government umbrella unions shut down much of the City of Buenos Aires with a general strike, which brought public transport to a standstill and forced many businesses to close for 24 hours.
Opposition CGT union leader Hugo Moyano has described the national transport strike carried out today as a “success” and stated he expects an “answer” from the government as regards their claim towards an income tax reform.
The Federal government has requested the annulment of the sentence that declared the Iran memorandum unconstitutional, while prosecutor Raúl Pleé defended the verdict in a hearing held at the Second Courtroom of the National Chamber of Criminal Appeals.
