Defence Minister and Victory Front’s presidential precandidate Agustín Rossi confirmed his candidacy and said that this year’s election will be about the “confrontation of two ideologies: Peronism and anti-Peronism.”
The official said that he will be running in the PASO primaries with “good prospects” even though he acknowledged that Victory Front’s precandidates Daniel Scioli and Florencio Randazzo beat him in polls.
“It is paramount to encourage a debate of ideas before the right-wing coalition that is being built,” Rossi said referring to the electoral deal between UCR’s Ernesto Sanz, PRO’s Mauricio Macri and Civic Coalition’s Elisa Carrió.
“We are headed towards an election where two ideologies will confront: a right-wing, conservative anti-peronism and us, a progressive model that defends Peronism’s best values,” he added.
