It was announced tonight that Jon Stewart will be leaving Comedy Central this year. One memory I will never forget was Jon's monologue on the 1st The Daily Show to air after 9/11/01 which was on 9/20/01. I remember having trouble sleeping every night I was home and watching this live will always stay with me. Every day, fighting back depression and accepting reality, then to watch television hosts breaking down as they attempt to return life to normal pre-9/11.
Jon has been a friend of the FDNY and the 9/11 community. He was influential in ensuring the Zadroga Bill was passed.

Today, companies continue to operate at the 7th Alarm in Brooklyn. While the fire has been declared Under Control, we continue to flood the remains of the building while it is being demolished and perform exterior search to assure no recoveries are required. Today was a relatively mild day for the companies, but I'm hearing were in for some cold ones over the next week. Let's hope we wrap this up soon!
