Friends and Neighbors:
Just a quick message to let you know about two upcoming events. In spite of the cold weather, this Thursday, February 19th, my office is continuing our Roundtable breakfast series for boomers and seniors at Lenox Hill Neighborhood House. And next Wednesday, February 25th, the MTA is hosting a public workshop about construction of the Second Avenue Subway.
For more information on either event, see the descriptions below. Thanks, and I hope you enjoy!
Best,
Liz Krueger
State Senator
Senator Krueger's Roundtable for Boomers and Seniors, 2014-2015:
Senator Liz Krueger’s Roundtable for Boomers & Seniors is a 5-part program that provides an opportunity for constituents to come together to explore life issues that are relevant across the age span.
This year we are looking at Caregiving and all its aspects. The third session of this popular program will take place on Thursday morning, February 19th, at Lenox Hill Neighborhood House, 331 East 70th Street. The program runs from 8:30 am – 10:30 am. Bagels and coffee will be served.
The topic for this session is "Aging in Place: Is it Right for Everyone & Looking for Affordable Senior Living," and will feature presentations by Joanna Leefer, Senior Care Advisor with ElderCareGiving.com, and Larry Wood, Community Organizer with Goddard Riverside Family Council.

MTA Second Avenue Subway Public Workshop:
The MTA is hosting a workshop regarding the construction of the Second Avenue Subway. The goal of this workshop is to maintain an open dialogue between the MTA and the community at large. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage project representatives about current construction activity and the initiatives implemented by the MTA as a direct response to community input from previous public workshops.
The workshop will take place on Wednesday, February 25th from 6pm-7:45pm at Temple Israel, 112 East 75th St, between Park and Lexington Avenues.
MTA employees and contractors will attend the workshop to facilitate discussion and answer questions. RSVP online at https://sasworkshopfeb2015.eventbrite.com or call 646-448-8884, ext. 100. Walk-ins are welcome, photo ID is required for entry.
