My New Video: My Last Words on FDNY Thawing Units

As I explain in this video, my hopes to film a thawing unit in action have been dashed I guess largely because FDNY Thawing Unit crew members are not allowed to give interviews..

My interest in this topic was initially aroused by the fact I could only find one YouTube video of a Thawing Unit in action ( on hoses out in Jersey) and also that the tech site Gizmodo states that fire hydrants of the type used in NYC will not freeze up in the winter...and finally, the flap over the Gerritsen Beach incident in Brooklyn in 2010 when the rigs came and the FF's were stuck with a frozen hydrant and just had to stand there and watch a house burn down. ( This incurring the ongoing wrath of the whole Gerritsen Beach community).

My suspicion is, that this being NYC, there is ongoing litigation about this and maybe other similar cases and so no one from the Thawing Units are allowed to make any public statements.

Or maybe my credentials are in question as I am asking a Fire Buff question  and REAL Fire Buffs are I understand rich people (not always men in history, by the way, remember the famous Mrs. Coit in San Francisco and her lady friends) who are a rather exclusive lot
