MY NEW VIDEO: Oases of Tranquility in Manhattan- North Central Park and Tudor City

I guess it is not surprising that the Northern end of Central Park (tourists are all down at the South End by and large) is sort of an island of tranquility in Manhattan...

More hidden and more of a surprise is all the quiet and bird tweets down in Tudor City, at the Eastern end of busy, bustling 42nd Street-- up above the crowds on its rock escarpment, a "Tudor Influenced" development of the famous real estate planner Samuel French from the 1920's.

Our journey takes us from the Northern end of Central Park up about 105 th Street down to the Tudor City park and environs..

Travel provided by bus and subway...I thought the bus would be nice and quick in the middle of the day but apparently so did a ton of other people, and again we saw the "banana bus" phenomenon of NYC, where "there is an endless wait and then the buses come in bunches."

Be that as it may, what a great way to get out and around on a sunny but extremely chilly day in New York, and find so much
natural and man made beauty and calm...
