Houston FD LODD Memorial Details (The Secret List)

A memorial service has been announced for the late Houston FD Captain Dwight Bazile, who died in the Line of Duty Saturday night, after collapsing at a fire last Thursday in Southeast Houston.




Captain Bazile, known as B.B. to fellow firefighters, was a 37-year veteran on the Houston Fire Department. During a duplex fire in the 6300 block of England Street, Captain Bazile suffered cardiac arrest and collapsed in the street. He was immediately treated and rushed to Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Medical Center, where he tragically died.

The memorial service will be held at 1000 hours on Friday February 27, 2015.

HOUSTON FIRE CAPTAIN LODD MEMORIAL SERVICES ANNOUNCED 

Tuesday, February 24, 2015    A memorial service has been announced for the late Houston FD Captain Dwight Bazile, who died in the Line of Duty Saturday night, after collapsing at a fire last Thursday in Southeast Houston.

Captain Bazile, known as B.B. to fellow firefighters, was a 37-year veteran on the Houston Fire Department. SEATTLE FF BURNS FEET AT FURNACE EXPLOSION 

Monday, February 23, 2015     West Seattle.  An employee was also hurt.

The fire broke out Monday morning at the Meltec Foundry, 3444 113th Avenue Southwest, on Harbor Island, when a furnace blew up and burned a hole through the roof.

"This is a large-scale furnace. It's described to me as big as a small office," said Seattle fire spokesman Kyle Moore.

Witnesses said during the rush to put the fire out, a firefighter didn't notice boiling hot water and molten metal that  had spewed onto the foundry floor.

"He jumped in there, and one of our guys tried to tell him not to, and he burned the bottom of his feet," said employee and witness Ivan Wicker.

The firefighter was pulled out with second-degree burns on his feet and taken to Harborview Medical Center. A mayday call was put out and more crews arrived at the building to find a worker who had also been injured.

CLOSE CALL AT LIVE FIRE TRAINING IN CANADA 

Monday, February 23, 2015   Justin McGuigan, fire chief of the Millville Fire Department, was convinced he wasn’t going to get out alive during a knockdown drill the fire department put on last week.
“I couldn’t believe I just about lost my life and left my daughters without a dad and my wife without a husband,” said McGuigan in a telephone interview, Sunday. “That’s what got me the most.”
The fire started at around 8 p.m., on Wednesday, Feb. 18, a day McGuigan said he will never forget.
The volunteer fire fighters were asked to burn a building for the Crabbe Mountain Race Club. McGuigan said the fire department took advantage of the building and planned two quick knockdown drills before letting the building go.
McGuigan, who has been a volunteer firefighter for 19 years, said the team of 10 firefighters carried out the first run without issue.

6 FFs INJURED AT 2nd ALARM PA FIRE 

Monday, February 23, 2015    A 2-alarm fire has injured several fire fighters in Chester County. It started Sunday evening shortly after 8 p.m. at a home on Highland Hill Lane in Charlestown Township. Officials say the fire started in a fireplace. Authorities say the blaze was placed under control around 9:15 p.m. Sunday.

Three firefighters are in the hospital with minor injuries. Two firefighters were taken to Paoli Hospital and one was taken to Phoenixville Hospital.

Authorities say two of the firefighters were from East Whiteland and one was from Kimberton.

Firefighters are still on the scene putting out hot spots.
     

 

FLOOR COLLAPSE INJURES OHIO FFs

Monday, February 23, 2015   The Medina Fire Department battled a house fire late Sunday night.The fire broke out at Bella Rosa Court at approximately 10:43 p.m. Four children and their parents escaped from the home unharmed, including their pets.

Two firefighters were fell through a collapsed floor while battling the fire, sending one to the hospital for a shoulder injury.

The home is expected to be a total loss. The fire department is working to determine a cause for the fire.
     

 

EL PASO FIRE APPARATUS STRUCK RESPONDING 

Monday, February 23, 2015    An emergency vehicle was struck as it responded to a fire call Sunday afternoon. Five people were taken to the hospital.A witness told ABC-7 the car that hit the fire truck was to blame.

"We had noticed the fire truck was coming eastbound and had slowed in the intersection and this car ran the red light and hit him and did a 360 (degree turn)," a woman told ABC-7.

The crash happened on Paisano and Gateway East around 3 p.m.

Three emergency responders and two people in the car were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The fire truck was on the way to the Casa Clark apartment complex at 134 Clark St. in central El Paso when it was hit. No one was injured in the fire, but several residents were displaced.
     

 

FLINT FIRE APPARATUS STRUCK RESPONDING TO SHOOTING 

Monday, February 23, 2015   A Flint fire truck was damaged while responding for help Sunday, Feb. 22 at a possible shooting scene on Arlene Avenue.The fire engine had a dent and long, visible scratch along its driver's side door after being struck by a tow truck responding around 12:45 p.m. near the 3500 block of Arlene, off Ballenger Highway. 

Police at the scene for the shooting found a black Chrysler PT Cruiser that had run into a snow bank, but no victim was found when police arrived at the scene and no suspect information was available.

Residents on their front porches and peering out windows told officers they heard gunshots in the area, sending police on a search for shell casings on the snow-covered ground and canvassing the area for a suspect and victim.
     

 

FIRE CHIEF RELEASED FROM HOSPITAL AFTER APPARATUS EXPLOSION 

Sunday, February 22, 2015    A Green Country fire chief is recovering at home this afternoon, after breaking his spine on the job two weeks ago.

Bristow Chief David McSpadden was making repairs on a truck that hadn't been used in months when it exploded.

The blast damaged his spine, jaw and eye socket. He's out of the hospital, and has had stitches and staples removed.

Sunday, February 22, 2015    We regret to pass on to you notice that Houston (Texas) Captain Dwight Bazile, station 46 D shift, died in the Line of Duty today at 1815 Hours at Memorial Herman Hospital.  Captain Bazile collapsed on that fire scene Thursday, February 19th 2015 and has been fighting for his life at Memorial Herman Heart & Vascular Institute.  He is survived by his Wife Pamela Bazile, Son Dwight Bazile II, and Mother Charlotte Felder. We ask that you keep the family, of Captain Bazile, and the members of the HFD in your thoughts and prayers.
