Here's Some Early Designs For Belmont & Harrison Apartments
Tonight, NK Architects will present their plans for a seven-story apartment building on the northwest corner of the intersection Belmont Avenue E and E Harrison Street to the design review board for early guidance. The 37K sq. ft. complex plans to include 47 or 48 residential units as well as parking for approximately 17 vehicles below grade. The two existing one-story residential structures on site will be demolished. Three options will be presented with the preferred option putting the lobby on the corner of Belmont and Harrison and encouraging tenant and pedestrian activity there.

Room to Dock at This $1.9M Waterfront NW Contemporary
You've got three boats and you need a place to moor them. One answer, buy a house for $1,985,000 and get three slips. You also get a 3,440 square foot house on a 4,476 square foot lot; and you get 4 bedrooms and 2.5 baths. The house will probably get more use than the boats. There are lots of houses to pick from, some with waterfront and views; but there are few with this much room for your fleet. The lot has 60 feet of waterfront. Not too much. Not too little. Enough for the dock, a small wet-footed garden, and a patio. Plus, as nice as waterfront is, most of the time you'll be inside looking out at it - thanks to the nearly total use of windows for walls.

Big Reveal: $419K For This Top-Floor Eastlake Condo
Yesterday, we asked you to guess the asking price for this 1-BR, 1-bath condo in Eastlake. We received a guess of $399K and a guess of $475K. The lower guess, from Totes McGotes, was closer to the actual ask: $419K. Located inside a building built by noted architect Paul Thiry in the 1930's, it's preserved a lot of the original elements that give the space character, such as the decorative fireplace and vintage sconces. The kitchen and bathroom, however, are all new. So now that you know, does that price sound right to you?
Fifty Shades of Grey's Seattle Locations, Seductively Mapped
This Friday, Fifty Shades of Grey hits theaters and joins the ranks of Sleepless in Seattle, Singles, 10 Things I Hate About You and many other movies based in Seattle. They actually filmed most of it in Vancouver, because, of course they did. But Seattle certainly gets her close-up in this steamy story, for better or worse. If you haven't already seen Fifty Shades fans flocking to Escala, the site of Christian Grey's penthouse, or the Fairmont Olympic, where he and Anastasia Steele spend an evening together in the Cascade Suite, just give it time. And if you're one of those looking to explore Seattle through the eyes and experiences of Mr. & Mrs. Grey (spoiler?), we've mapped out all of the local locations mentioned in the books (and we assume the movie). As for exactly where in Escala the Red Room of Pain is located, you're on your own. Literally.
$2M Leschi Condo For When You Want a Home as Big as Your Boat
Let's say you've got three cars and two yachts and you need a place to park them; or, you hope to have that much but you're waiting until you find the right place. That sounds like a waterfront house with an enormous garage. Over in Leschi you'll find a condo that gives you that, as well as 3 bedrooms, 3 baths, and 2,808 square feet for $2,050,000. It may not be a house, but it might be the right home - at least for your vehicles. Condo is usually code for no lawn but not here. There's enough lawn for an airstrip for a flock of geese. Inside it's what you expect from Northwest luxury: good wood, enough decorative elements for style but not so much to be ostentatious, the requisite brand name appliances and trendy materials for countertops and baths, and lots of windows. The circular staircase is a nice touch.
Former Seahawks QB Jon Kitna Lists Lakewood Home For $3.5M
Looking through the listing photos for this 6-BR Lakewood home that recently listed for $3.5M, it appeared that the owners were very big fans of Jon Kitna since they had a bunch of his football jerseys framed on the walls. The much more obvious conclusion soon became clear. This IS Jon Kitna's house, at least until some one buys it. The Tacoma-born NFL quarterback who spent four seasons with the Seattle Seahawks recently left his gig as head football coach at alma mater Lincoln High School to take a new job in Texas, hence the home sale. The 2010 waterfront home is huge (8,279 sq. ft.) and is built to be filled. The kitchen bar can seat up to ten people and the living room can probably seat more. Special bonus for any coaches who want to live here, there's already a "coaches room" ready to go with dry erase boards and seating for all your assistants and/or kids.

Nathan Lau of FlowingData has created a data visualization that shows about what time Americans are fumbling for the keys and getting on their way to work. Locally, it seems like King County is in full-on commute mode between 7:00 and 8:00 a.m., probably no big surprise to you. What does make it interesting is seeing just how much later locals commute than those in the surrounding counties. [FD]

↑ Let's begin in North Delridge where you can find a 720 sq. ft. 1-BR at Westside Flats. The location puts you at the very top of West Seattle Golf Course and within walking distance to The Junction. Dog owners will be happy to hear there's an on-site dog park. The unit itself looks modern and well-maintained. We're off to a good start.
Alex Alben's Mediterranean-Inspired Home Yours For $2.9M
In 2002 and 2004, Alex Alben wanted your vote to become a member of the United States House of Representatives. In 2015, all he wants is $2.99M. Of course, you get something out of that deal. You get a Mediterranean villa-inspired 4-BR home in Harrison/Denny Blaine. The former RealNetworks VP has live here since 2006 when he purchased it for $3.8M and he's seemingly been trying to sell it ever since. On and off the market since 2007, he's willing to walk away with a lot less. The 1928 home still looks worth it. The red-tile roof, Spanish tile floors and leaded windows evoke that Mediterranean feel while a Clive Christian kitchen, complete with a farmhouse sink and marble counters, brings some casual modernity into the mix. Plus, if you feel like you can't make the payment yourself, there's a second master suite for your new roommate.

Hit the Gym, Wine Cellar or Pool Room in This Kirkland 4-BR
How about a house that has so many different rooms that using every one once would take you at least a day? A piece of Kirkland's waterfront just came onto the market for $2,695,000. It has the standard complement of rooms: 4 bedrooms and 3 baths; but, that's not enough to fill the rest of the 4,700 square feet or your time. There's also a 2,000-bottle wine cellar, billiards room, and gym - and then there's a six-car garage and the possibility of moorage. If the house doesn't keep you entertained, the property is bracketed by Kirkland and Juanitia, with the lake and views of the mountains. Enjoy the view or visit the shore. Or maybe actually use one of those fairly typical rooms like bedrooms, kitchens, and baths (though that one shower stall with the black and white tile isn't all that typical and neither is the bathtub in the bedroom, so, scratch that).
