President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner has defended her government's record in promoting local business and industry, while launching a fierce criticism of the Argentine Industrial Union (UIA) and the chamber's negative stance on agreements with China.
In a national broadcast transmitted this evening, President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner urged candidates for the 2015 presidential elections to make public their declarations showing increase in wealth and assets over the last 15 years.
Following a request from the Argentine Industrial Union (UIA) yesterday, Cabinet Chief Jorge Capianich announced that government officials will meet with industrial leaders to discuss the agreements signed between China and Argentina last week. The meeting, initially scheduled for Friday, will be held tomorrow, government sources told ambito.com.

Foreign Minister Héctor Timerman said that the death of AMIA prosecutor Alberto Nisman is being “used to attack the government” in an interview with the Washington Post. Meanwhile Argentina's Ambassador to the US Cecilia Nahón wrote a letter to the Post’s editor stating that “Argentina seeks only justice in 1994 bombing case.”
