Last year was dubbed the year of the "selfie" after millions of people shared images of themselves online, but self-portraiture is nothing new.
A new exhibition at Margate's Turner Gallery displays 140 self portraits from artists through the centuries - from Sir Anthony Van Dyck to Tracey Emin.
