Live Fire & Leading Experts
IFW conference goes to Texas in 2015
Celebrating 30 years, the Industrial Fire World Emergency Responder Training & Exposition will be hosted in Beaumont, Texas, at the Holiday Inn Beaumont Plaza on September 29 – October 1, 2015. Live fire demonstrations, educational work- shops and innovating exhibitors define what industrial and municipal responders experience when attending the IFW conference and exposition.
Workshops are designed to meet the information needs of industrial emergency response managers and personnel as well as the municipalities responding to industrial emergencies in their areas. “Municipal Responders Fighting Industrial Incidents” workshop delivers the tips that will help municipal firefighters respond to a fire or emergency at a plant, refinery, chemical or other industrial facility in their jurisdiction or mutual aid vicinity. Round table discussions allow industrial and municipal departments to exchange ideas and information to protect people and property in their communities.
Additionally, both industrial and emergency firefighters will find the “Fixed Fire Systems” workshop beneficial as they discuss the basics in a classroom setting and then go behind the scenes to see a fixed fire system in an industrial facility. One company in the Golden Triangle area will receive a complimentary fixed fire system test from XL GAPS while hosting the class.
Another class that benefits industrial emergency responders and their area municipal responders is “New Technology for Storage Tank Fire Protection.” Leading experts deliver the tried and true plus the new innovations and approaches for protecting storage tanks and responding to fires that threaten the product, the people and the property of a tank farm and surrounding area.
Expanding the area to include a facility, a community or nearby communities, the “Pre-Planning is More Than Paperwork” workshop enforces the concept that an emergency response plan requires a hands-on approach of networking, training, evaluating, assessing and recognizing needs, hazards and strengths for emergency preparation and response.
