Video:Meet RJ. RJ is the short name the Country Fire Association has for one of its RJ85 Large Air Tanker planes that load up with fire retardant to slow the advance of vicious bushfires in Victoria. Amidst the onslaught of bad news about antibiotic resistance, here’s something very good: Scientists have found a new class of antibiotics in soil bacteria, one whose mechanism could make it particularly resistant to resistance. More significant than this single new antibiotic, though, is how scientists found it.
