President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner has met with members of the 18J Family, Survivors and Friends of the Victims of the AMIA Attack Association, led by Sergio Burstein, in an audience held at her official residence in Olivos.
French President Francois Hollande has thanked President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner for her support after the Charlie Hebdo terrorist attack.
BA City Mayor Mauricio Macri demanded “the truth behind (AMIA prosecutor Alberto) Nisman’s death” and questioned the president’s decision to dissolve the Intelligence Secretariat to create a new federal intelligence agency.
Cabinet Chief Jorge Capitanich slammed the opposition lawmaker’s call for Security Secretary Sergio Berni to brief the Congress tomorrow on his actions on the night AMIA special prosecutor Alberto Nisman was found dead.

The all-out intelligence war that has plagued the country over the past few weeks led President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner to call for a wholesale reform of the secret services. For many this reform is long overdue.
Two of the bodyguards entrusted with the security of late AMIA lead investigator have been made available for further questioning, after inconsistencies were found in the pair's testimony following the death of the prosecutor in his Puerto Madero home.
Prosecutor investigating the death of Alberto Nisman, Viviana Fein, will order the delivery of his body to the family, since Nisman's ex wife, Sandra Arroyo Salgado, said that there was no need for a new autopsy in the investigation, the Prosecution said on a press release.
Lower House opposition caucus leaders have rejected the proposed dissolution of the Intelligence Secretariat as they consider it was made to “distract attention” from the death of AMIA special prosecutor Alberto Nisman.

President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner spoke in public for the first time since Nisman’s death yesterday to announce the proposed dissolution of the controversial Intelligence Secretariat (SI, formerly known as SIDE) and the creation of a federal intelligence agency.
The informal rate of the US currency, the so called "blue" dollar, fell one cent to close at 13.65 pesos in Buenos Aires City underground foreign exchange houses. Meanwhile, the official US dollar closed steady at 8.64 pesos.

As around 300 survivors of the Auschwitz death camp were gathering today to mark 70 years since its liberation by Soviet troops, joined by world leaders, Pope Francis said that it calls for a “future of respect, peace.”
