The late AMIA special prosecutor Alberto Nisman drove an Audi car that belonged to the company Palermopack SA, whose owner is the son-in-law of Hugo Anzorreguy, who used to lead the Intelligence Secretariat (SI, formerly known as SIDE) during Carlos Menem’s tenure. Anzorreguy was being investigated by Nisman for having covered up the 1994 AMIA terrorist attack that killed 85 people.
“Argentineans do not deserve concentrated media outlets or intelligence agents working for obscure interests,” the official said in a fiery speech yesterday in Chaco province. He accused “concentrated groups” of “seeking permanent destabilization strategies.”
