It's hard to believe it but it has already been 1 year since Honorary Firefighter Tyler Doohan PFC Last Alarm 1/20/14

Many firefighters have adopted as one of their own a 9-year-old boy who died saving six relatives from a fire that destroyed his grandfather's upstate New York home.

Tyler died early on the morning of Jan. 20, 2014 as fire consumed a single-wide trailer in Penfield, NY

Fire officials say Tyler awoke six other relatives - four adults and children ages 4 and 6 - sleeping in the trailer but was sadly killed when he tried to help his disabled grandfather out of the inferno.

It is with sadness and regret to inform that six Taiwanese firefighters were killed early Tuesday and died after part of an illegally built bowling alley collapsed in Taoyuan County, Taiwan

Taiwan's official Central News Agency said firefighters had rescued two brothers from the bowling alley, which was closed at the time.

The men, all in their 20's, were trapped and killed in a "sudden burst of fire" which caused the partial collapse of the building.

Six Taiwanese Brother firefighters were killed early this Tuesday when a burning roof collapsed on them in a bowling alley.

Taiwan's official Central News Agency said firefighters had rescued two brothers from the bowling alley, which was closed at the time.

The men, all in their 20's, were trapped and killed in a "sudden burst of fire" which caused the partial collapse of the building.

Six Taiwanese Brother firefighters were killed early this Tuesday when a burning roof collapsed on them in a bowling alley.

Taiwan's official Central News Agency said firefighters had rescued two brothers from the bowling alley, which was closed at the time.

The men, all in their 20's, were trapped and killed in a "sudden burst of fire" which caused the partial collapse of the building.

Two of the Firefighters who died had graduated from the Academy only last year.

Other firefighters were then trapped when metal supports gave way and the roof fell on them in Taoyuan city south of Taipei.

The fire originated in an electrical transformer box on the bowling alley's second floor.

Many young firefighters in Taiwan choose the work to fulfill their required year of national service as an alternative to the military.
