FDNY sued by kayaker for water rescue injuries

Teen claims he was hit by the propeller of the boat when firefighters rescued him after his kayak flipped

By FireRescue1 Staff
NEW YORK — A teenager who flipped his kayak has sued the FDNY, saying he was seriously hurt when responders rescued him.
Frank Marino Jr., 17, alleges in the lawsuit that when three firefighters rescued him from Jamaica Bay, he was hit by the propeller of their boat, the New York Post reports.
It caused "multiple severe and serious lacerations" to his stomach and legs, which required surgery, according to the claims. He’s seeking unspecified damages.
