Apparatus Safety

In the past few years, there has been a substantial increase in the number of apparatus accidents caused by the lack of or deferred maintenance. National Fire Protection Association Standard (NFPA) 1911 covers maintenance; many fire departments do not even know that it exists. Attendees will become acquainted with this standard and its provisions such as weighing apparatus annually and the relationship between weight and the overall vehicle design.

So, You Want to Buy a Drone?

Operating a drone, or unmanned aircraft, as a public entity is different than operating one as a civilian. The regulations are tighter for public entities, and there is more to operating one than just going to a store and making a purchase.

This Webcast will cover the ins and outs for purchasing a drone for use by a public agency, the FAA regulations that public agencies must comply with, and the types of drones available.

  • Apparatus Back up Camera Info
Maybe I should have originally posted  this questions here. I am wondering if anyone has or uses back up camera's on their apparatus? If so, what info do you have about them or would recommend? Doing some research for my department.
  • Help
I am the Asst. Chief at a rural volunteer fire dept in SE Oklahoma. We have a 74 White that has a camel back suspension. We are in need of a suspension for this tanker/pumper as the old one has finally give way. The tank is sitting on the wheels. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Robert
