How did US jets end up in Iran to be used against ISIS?
The United States once famously backed the Taliban...
and was involved in Iran ( as were the Brits and others) before the Ayatollah action started there
Then the U.S. aided Saddam Hussein in mercilessly fighting Iran,
turning a blind eye to the poison gas Hussein was so fond of
(As usual, the Kurds suffered worst of all)
Now the U.S. and Iran are both fighting IS (ISIS) but are in the strange position of not even vaguely saying" my enemy's enemy is my friend" ( as Eamon DeValera said of Hitler, as the Irish government sent its profound condolences to the Germans who were left after Hitler's death was announced).
