A debate still rages over what Jim Morrison " was really like."
One of the seminal "bad boys" of Rock, Morrison of course is still remembered for supposedly exposing his genitals to a Miami audience as the climax of his act.
My dear, late friend Scott Evans, who was a rock aficianado and a friend of the group "Widespread Panic," stuck to the theory that Morrison was a quiet guy who was nothing like the public persona.
I remember sitting on Governor Island at the bowling alley with a friend of mine, who had come back from Vietnam and then enlisted in the Coast Guard.
He was a Morrison fan and as we listened to " Love Me Two Times" on the jukebox, he said he listened to Morrison in Vietnam.
I should note my friend was suffering form severe PTSD which was obvious to everyone around him, but of course he got no treatment. He used to drink himself into oblivion often.
But back to Morrison--legendary charisma, the Daily Mail thinks it's worth running this "hot news flash" about his "real" death.
