‘Our mandate is to reflect different parts of the country to each other’
Having worked in radio and television news at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) since 1975, Esther Enkin was appointed Ombudswoman for CBC English Services in 2012 to represent the public’s interests at CBC. She talked to the Herald in a hotel lobby in downtown Buenos Aires after a long week that included a number of talks with Argentina’s Ombudswoman Cynthia Ottaviano.
Roberto Berdún was in his late twenties when he arrived at the General San Martín Theatre to start the most important job he has ever had: to collect and systematize depositions held at the National Commission on the Forced Disappearances of Persons (Conadep). He spoke to the Herald about the days when he was helping to write the iconic Never Again report.
