Playwright Stephen Adly Guirgis discusses his new play “Between Riverside and Crazy,” along with director Austin Pendleton, and star Stephen McKinley Henderson. The play tells the story of an ex-cop and recent widower Walter “Pops” Washington and his recently paroled son, Junior, struggle to hold on to one of the last, great rent-stabilized apartments on Riverside Drive, while fending off his landlord, cops, the church, and City Hall. The play is playing July 31- August 23 at the Atlantic Theater Company’s Linda Gross Theater.
