George Takei
talks about his childhood experience in a Japanese American internment
camp during World War II, his breakout role as Mr. Sulu on "Star Trek"
in the 1960s, his work as an activist, and becoming a social media
phenomenon with over seven million Facebook likes. He’s joined by
filmmaker Jennifer M. Kroot, who has made a documentary called “To Be Takei.”
The film is playing in New York at AMC Loews Village 7. It's also
available on all video on demand platforms, including iTunes and Amazon,
beginning August 22.
