Abbott and Costello, John Lennon and Paul McCartney, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler: Twosomes that make history test the myth of the lone genius and the creative power of pairs.
The beauty of a duo is the subject of a new book, "Powers of Two: Finding the Essence of Innovation in Creative Pairs," by Joshua Wolf Shenk. He says for one genius to exist, there often have to be two.

Women have been largely ignored in this discussion. I admire, venerate, and adore Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony, the mothers and perpetrators of the Women's Suffrage Movement. Without their dedicated partnership, the struggle for the 19th Amendment may have taken longer.

I'd pair IWorry.com with Pixar.
Why Iworry: Iworry "is a campaign created by The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (DSWT) and exists to protect elephants by raising awareness of the threat facing the survival of the species." (quoted from website)
Why Pixar: When I heard recently that Frozen was #1 at the box office in China, and it made me think that an animated feature film about a family of elephants could illustrate what beautiful, awe-inspiring creatures they are, and (in an age-appropriate way) how much they have suffered at the hands of humans. Pixar has done such intelligent, moving, resonant films, with tremendous social influence. I love the messages of Wall-E––for us to “come down to the ground” and cherish the earth; of Up––that a person can come around to finding meaning and value again in life, after the tragedy of losing their soulmate; of Toy Story––the beauty of friendship and loyalty. It’s way past time for an animated film about elephants (and so many other endangered creatures) that humans threaten in so many ways. A Pixar film about elephants might be able to overcome the centuries-long love of ivory that’s so deeply culturally embedded throughout Asia, and start to turn things around.

I thank your guest for getting the word suffragist right.
I would add Meat Loaf and Jim Steinman to this discussion. Couldn't live together; are not the same apart.

Stephen Hawking. He's explained the universe and I'd love to pretend that I was helping.
