"Think not too much..."
By Stefan George Requested by Georg Schulz (Thank you for your support) Translated by A.Z. Foreman Think not too much about what no one knows! The meaning of life’s figures can't be solved: The wildswan you shot down, then kept alive A while out in the yard with shattered wing, Recalled - you said - a thing of distant nature Kindred to yours which you destroyed in him. He ailed away with no thanks for your care Nor rancor… yet when the dying came he did Rebuke you with his dwindling eye for driving Him through into another cycle of things.
