Some Russians are so angry Conchita Wurst won Eurovision, they are shaving their beards in protest

A social media trend has seen a few dissatisfied Russians shaving their beards in protest at Austria’s triumph.
This unpleasant Twitter craze has also inspired tweets attacking both Conchita and the European community, with the Russian deputy prime minister saying the win ‘showed supporters of European integration their European future: a bearded girl.’
Some Russian Twitter users made spoof posters including this one stating ‘Ukraine is Europe’ with former presidential candidate Yulia Tymoshenko Photoshopped with a beard.
One user wrote: ‘The day before yesterday was the last day the beard makes you more manly.’
But if that makes you angry, be comforted by the fact the song has rocketed to the top of the charts in Russia.
And remember Conchita won the tournament and rocked a bodycon dress to boot.
