photographer John Stanmeyer has won this year's World Press Photo award
for his picture of African migrants on the shore of Djibouti city. It
shows them raising their phones in an attempt to capture an inexpensive
signal from neighbouring Somalia. Stanmeyer is a founder member of the
VII photo agency.
