Tonight we could not dine in the rear room ( part of which is shown below) because there was--again-- a private party going on there. But the front room turned out to be very nice indeed, with late afternoon sunlight still pouring in.
They had the ravioli ( large serving, delicious) and I had a great large bowl of Pasta fagioli soup...one Tiramisu for the three of us ( Wow, is it a rich dessert!) Jesus had a glass of red wine which he said was just dandy.
One of the most attentive and friendliest servers I have experienced, even for Delizia. Made sure our ice water was always full and we had enough bread and butter ( the small bread is excellent and is hard to resist).
This is the kind of place people from out of town are always asking about-- do you know a nice, reasonably priced ( in this case, very reasonable) restaurant in this expensive Yorkville area where you can dine at your leisure and talk and be treated well. I would ignore the bad reviews here as flukes or people who expected some out of this world dining experience without having to pay the usual arm and a leg for that...
By the way, have never had the pizza here but I am sure it is great.

I hate this place. It seems to always be open, always have delicious pizza... Why couldn't this be an expensive juice bar that closes at 7pm?
Dear delizia:
My next 5 miles on the treadmill is dedicated to you, you delicious bastard.

Delizia 92 is consistently delicious! I order the pizza from there quite often and it is always very good. It is great NY pizza and definitely the best on the Upper East Side. I have never eaten at the restaurant as I always do take-out, but it looks nice and casual. Not too much cheese, and the sauce is great. They have a fan for life!

Decor-wise, this is a casual Italian restaurant with very reasonable prices. The prices are actually similar to what many fast food type pizzerias charge, but with slightly better quality eats. They serve good pizza too - the slices are not too heavy and have a good amount of sauce and cheese.

The pizza was bland and forgettable and he garlic knots were stale. What more is there to say?

Just A-OK. I've been coming to Delizia since I was super little. Hubby and I even had our wedding rehearsal dinner here (super casual) and so I've got a soft spot for Delizia. But their pizza isn't what it used to be. It suffers from either too much or too little. Too much sauce, too little sauce, too much mozzarella, too little ricotta, you get my drift. Most disappointing though was our most recent visit in a while since I've pretty much been off of gluten and at that moment when you decide that you desperately need a slice of good pizza, gluten free diet out the window, it had better be worth it. This wasn't worth it. Like at all, then realizing when we opened the boxes of cold pizza that almost half of our order was missing... no bueno.
The rest of the pizza was blah. I wish I had a better word for it. My white slice had small drops of ricotta, a limp crust and a half inch layer of cold mozzarella. While my brother was of the opinion that there's no such thing as too much cheese, trust me there is. I ripped off the crust and just ate that. It was edible-ish. -

They have a thin version of Sicilian here with sauce in the middle (sorry don't know what to call it) that is suuuuper good. The sauce is perfect. Every time I'm in the neighborhood and need a quick bite, I stop by for one. My husband was with me last time - he ate 3...
Have yet to try anything else on the menu, but when I have time it's on my list.
The service is always friendly, it has a neighborhood vibe and the price for a slice and drink is legit. -
Possibly the best pizza slice I've had since I've been in NY. It's cheesy, but not gooey or heavy. the sauce has a nice tang to it. It's not very convenient to me, so I probably won't be a frequent visitor, but if chance has me in the neighborhood again, I'll drop in. -
I have never been a big pizza fan but thats because I am from CA so i didnt grow up eating or craving pizza.... instead we had some banging/out of this world Mexican food!!!
Anyhow, I moved to the city last year and since then I have tried many pizza places (because many people have told me that NYC has the best pizza in the WORLD) and by far Delizia is my favorite.
In my opinion they have the "perfect pizza."
What makes a perfect ???? Well: Thin crust (not paper thin so you can actually pick the slice up), SAUCE: is fresh and bursts with flavor. And the cheese: great mozzarella and plenty of it!!!
The service is good too- they are always smiling and very helpful. Additionally, if you spend a certain amount or have a cute kid with you they may hook-up your table with complimentary tiramisu.
GO TO THIS PLACE!!!! -
Checked this place out because I wanted some cheap Italian food. I ordered over the phone for take out. I noticed that there was no gnocchi on the menu but when I asked for it the guy happily made it for me.
He said to stop by in about 15 minutes and to my surprise the food was ready in 15!
The service was fast and the food was still piping hot when I got home.
I ordered the gnocchi with tomato sauce, linguini with red clam sauce and a plain cheese pizza.
The linguini dish was fantastic. The flavors went well together and the pasta was cooked al dente. Unfortunately the gnocchi was terribly overlooked and was mostly a giant blob-basically they were like bread doe. I was pretty disappointed with this dish. The pizza looked good but after the pasta I decided to keep it for lunch the next day!
All together this came out to $35 and you get healthy sized portions. The take out containers are also great because I can take them to work.
Over not a terrible place unless you have extremely high gnocchi standards! -
On our first night, after having been in a car, at an airport, on a plane, in a cab since 3PM and now it was 11 and we were STARVING and exhausted we dropped our bags at my daughters place and walked over.
The smells that wafted towards my tired nose can only be described as what an Angel must smell like. Yes my dear friends Angels smell like garlic, butter and cheese. In a good way.
So we order a couple of slices and I saw they had Tortellini Soup. I must have some of that because again, I am starving. The pizza came and I wolfed it down like it was nothing and glad to have ordered the soup. The pizza was one with Basil leaves on top, I don't remember the name but it was delicious. I can admit it was my first NY style pizza IN NYC. I had never had it before - here - so I was very happy. I enjoyed it greatly.
The soup was ok, I can only describe it as Tortellini in a clear cheese broth. Almost like they seasoned the water they cooked it in a bit. The rolls and bread that came with it were delicious though and dipping them in the broth was quite perfect.
Nice way to start my trip. -
Bought a "Meatball Parmigiana" hero for $6. Decent size and they put plenty of meat in it Although the meat was dry even when the warm marinara sauce and mozzarella were melted into it. The bread seemed store bought but I'll give them another try since it's only a couple blocks from me. For $6 it's alright..
