Texting woman survives fall in front of SoHo subway train

Friday, February 14, 2014
A woman survived a fall onto the subway tracks in front of an incoming train in SoHo Thursday.

Police say the woman was texting while walking on a platform at the Broadway-Lafayette Street stop around 10 a.m.

She apparently lost her balance and fell in front of an oncoming B train.

According to published reports, the train's first car rolled over her, but she likely fell into the rail bed.
She was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries to her knees.

D train service was suspended between West Fourth Street and DeKalb Avenue and B trains were also delayed.
