Gothamist-- Plane Crash Lands on Bronx Highway

I am running this story twice, to show how the American media (here local) treats it and how it is handled by the BBC

[Update] Photo: Small Plane Lands On Major Deegan Expressway In The Bronx

A small plane landed on the Major Deegan Expressway in The Bronx this afternoon. According to officials, the plane made an emergency landing just before 3:30 p.m. on the northbound Major Deegan near Exit 12 (E. 233rd Street) in Van Cortland Park. Four people, including the pilot, were onboard the plane; the three passengers, one man and two women, suffered only minor injuries. We'll update as we learn more information.
Update: According to the News, the plane was bound for LaGuardia Airport. As Robert Deniszczyc points out, the plane is "a Piper PA28-180 single engine, prop," registered to Westchester resident Michael Schwartz.
A source told the WSJ that the plane lost power, which led to the emergency landing; it's still unclear what caused it to lose power.
