Ritz Carlton Battery Park

Another hotel that boasts views of the Statue of Liberty etc. and is generally regarded as one of the city's best ( certainly by Zagat).

Let's see what Yelper's say...a lot say it is wonderful, a couple don't think so at all

We had an amazing time at this great hotel.  I was so surprised at how warm and welcoming the front desk staff was.  They were so kind to my two children (aged 3 and 16).  They had a welcome package for my daughter and suggestions for places to eat for my son (who has severe food allergies).  The front desk manager even came around the desk to get on my daughter's level to speak to her.  They made the beginning of our trip magical!

Our rooms were very comfortable and our view was amazing.  We had an incident where I thought that I saw a bug.  I called the front desk and it seemed like within a couple of seconds they sent four people up to deal with the issue.  The "bug" was actually a piece of dust up high on the wall.  But they didn't make me feel like I had wasted their time.  (I felt pretty dumb after this incident, but they tried to reassure me that I shouldn't feel that way at all.)  All four of them were professional and warm.  It really made me feel like I was a billionaire (which I AM NOT!!!!)

We also ordered room service.  When I told the lady who was taking the orders that we had food allergies, she had the head chef speak to us about our options.  WOW!!! Talk about making someone feel special!  He told us all of the things he could do for us and I was impressed that he would take the time to care so much.  We ordered our food and it was fabulous!  My favorite was the creamed spinach!  It tasted like a warm hug on a plate.  Everything was served piping hot and the care taken with each item was evident.

In short, I will definitely stay here again.  I heard so many times that New Yorkers are mean...but that was definitely NOT TRUE from our treatment at this hotel!  I went from being scared to visit this city to feeling like it was a home away from home!

Great hotel. I stayed here a few weeks ago on a mini vacation with a couple of friends from my company softball team and we had a blast. My friend Derrick always brings the party and we were not kicked out or even charged a fee for damage to the room which was pretty minimal anyway.

Great views if you are on a higher floor. We were not, but had a good time anyway. It's  in a great neighborhood and there are dozens of places that deliver food nearby.

As a lover of Battery Park in general, it's no surprise that the Ritz Battery Park ranks high on my list of places to stay in NYC. On this recent visit, my third, I was welcomed back with an upgraded room. The room was generously sized with an oversized bathroom and bed dressed with plush linens. The fitness center is truly one of the nicest I've used among 5 star hotels I've frequented.

My only gripe with this property is the lack of dining options. The one and only restaurant, 2West, underwelms. While the service was spot on, the menu lacks in variety and creativity.

*** When staying at a five star property, I hate being nickel and dimed for extras such as Wifi. I would prefer such extras would just be added to the rate. I've never paid for internet at the Four Seasons... Just sayin'.

We live on Long Island now, but consider the RC our home in the city. The entire staff is exceptional, but the creme de la creme are Lee and Young at the front desk. They have become like old friends.
Get a liberty view room/suite the club level floor if you can.

We travel frequently and have stayed in hotels all over the world. This was one of our most pleasant hotel stays. Service superb. Comfort excellent. Location perfect. Easy access to expressway to avoid traffic to get to midtown. We walked across street and rented bikes- it was lovely. Also walking distance to financial district to see 9-11 memorial.

We rented a club room with view of Statue of Liberty. The club access was amazing- drinks, delicious meals all day. It's a great deal if you want to eat in the hotel.

I give The Ritz-Carlton New York, Battery Park 5 stars.  First off, the staff are very friendly and accomodating when you are at the hotel.  The hotel gives an upscale experience for half the price of the other high end hotels in New York City.  The rooms are very clean and the Statue of Liberty view rooms are very nice to stay at in at this hotel.  The only disappointment I have is the removal of the mini bar, but it is obviously cheaper to buy these items elsewhere.  I have stayed at this hotel many times and plan to do so in all of my future stays in New York City.  Also, I received a free room upgrade by booking through American Express, so I would recommend this to anybody staying at the hotel.

If you've stayed at one Ritz Carlton, you've stayed at them all.

However, the views out of this property are simply stunning. If you're a runner, you have direct access to a great running/bike path just outside the hotel.

    Warmest greetings at the Ritz.
Having travelled to NYC many times, I was stunned by the very warm welcome from everyone at the lobby.  Feels like I was in a resort in Bali or that I was a Billionaire (which I am not!).
Ask for the view rooms.  It is worth it.  You an see the Statue of Liberty from the hotel room! Telescope is also provided.  During the day, the different hues reflected off the copper skin of the Lady is quite amazing.
The workout facility on the 14th floor is moderate in size but has all the equipment you need.  Free head sets are provided.
Tip: The complimentary bottled water is kept at the gym.
Sunday brunch was quiet but the quality of the cold seafood platter was Tops.  They served a very fresh corn bread (I think) that went well with the spicy Chipotle sauce - all complimentary.
Overall, a nice place to stay

Most of the fancy and classic hotels are located in midtown or uptown.
    It's really a surprise to find a Ritz-Carlton in downtown---Battery Park, Impressive.

I was stunned by the very warm welcome from everyone at the lobby and feel like i was in a resort in Puerto Rico or else where.

Been here enough times that this is my favorite hotel in NYC. It's always clean, the rooms are a nice size (especially the suites) and the staff are genuinely nice and wonderful with our children. Finally a luxury hotel with out the pretentiousness.

Looking forward to our next stay!

Hotel was okay - a step down from the average Ritz Carlton - Room was clean and the staff was very friendly. Front desk staff was helpful and the hotel operators were great. When the front desk was busy the concierge desk was unhelpful... Seemed more like a Marriott than a Ritz..

The Ritz is my preferred hotel of choice when traveling.  If the city has it and it's not sold out, I'm there.  If you've stayed at a Ritz anywhere before, you know what you're getting.  If you've never been before and this is your first time, you'll get everything you expected.

The Ritz Carlton here at Battery Park is really a standard setting hotel.  This particular Ritz has impeccable staff and service.  If you can afford it, try staying in the Liberty Suite.  Simply just amazing, with beautiful views looking at Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty.  It just doesn't get better than that sometimes.

The hotel is in great proximity to WTC site, and to the financial district.  Staff here as I stated were amazing.  After spending an entire week here they eventually remember your names, your likes, how you like things done, and do with ease.  Even small gestures such as hitting the elevator buttons before you get there really matter to me.  It's the attention to detail which keeps bringing me back to this chain.

The robes were fluffy, like  being hugged by a cloud, big wonderful flat screen televisions, fully stocked bathroom with all the amenities, a terrific gym (fitness center) and VERY CLEAN!

As for the price, some people would say it expensive.  I did end up spending $995 a night, but for me, that well within my budget and have spent more at other hotels.  However, if you're having money issues you shouldn't be staying here. Not many people stay here for 7 days.  But if you're fortunate to do so, you might as well go with the best.  And the Ritz really is the best in my book right now.

Located at the edge of Battery Park, this Ritz Carlton offers great views and even better service.  This location seems a bit more hip/cosmopolitan than the other locations in terms of decor.

Oh yeah, they put out quite the spread for Easter Brunch and their regular breakfasts are yummy too!

All of our previous NYC vacays have been further north: Mandarin Oriental, Essex House, Plaza, Ritz Carlton Central Park. I was a bit concerned that the Battery Park location woulld be a problem and it was--slightly. There is very little within easy walking distance, especially at night. We still loved the Staue of Liberty views and the people watching in Battery Park. Also, there are several subway lines within 1/4 mile walk, so if you are willing to deal with 4-5 extra stops on that, or fight traffic in a taxi I recommend you stronly consider R-C BP.

We stayed in a Statue View Club Suite booked via AmEx Fine Hotels and Resorts, 4 nights for price of 3. The price was very reasonable. Service is on par with the other places we have stayed. There were a couple of minor mixups on check in and checkout that were quickly remedied with typical R-C aplomb. The propery is beautiful and well-maintained.
The club level here was terrific, as good as any I have seen anywhere. Lots of great small bites, snacks, drinls, and very relaxing. We had breakfast there each morning. It's a good thing, because we found the restaurant to be utterly lacking in selection, flavor, and efficiency. The bar is cozy and friendly though. Concierge knowledgeable abd helpful.

Our suite was roomy and very well appointed. Typical R-C bed and bathroom appointments. Very comfortable and luxurious. Separate bathtub and shower areas not quite on par with other R-C as far as size but still very nice.

You will know without doubt that you are staying at the Ritz. The staff is well trained and helpful. Somehow it does seem a bit...muted? compared to their sister property on Centrl Park. Didn't bother us one bit.

We told them we were celebrating our wedding aniversary and they went over the top to help us celebrate. Rose petals on the bed and in the bathroom, flowers, and a different little gift each night definitely scored points with my wife and me. Very thoughtful and appreciated. SO would we stay again? I think so!

This is a "meh" RC. There is really nothing special about this location, but it is competing against RCCP (which is hard to top as far as RC's go).

The outside reminds me of an office building. Its kind of funny driving up and not being able to recognize a hotel from the other buildings nearby. The service? Nothing special. The bar area? Nothing special. The rooms? Nothing special, besides a telescope. Also, the rooftop bar is now closed , for reasons that I don't understand.

If you need a hotel close to FiDi, this will do the trick. But don't expect impeccable RC service here.

Located on the edge of Battery Park with the best view of the Statue of Liberty.  If you're looking for a hotel that prides itself on quality customer service and high standards, The Ritz is the hotel for you. From the bellboys, to the desk agents to the random employees roaming about the hotel, everyone wants to help make your stay the best experience possible - no matter what.  Everyone knows your name, where you're visiting from and wants you to have a great time.

I've never felt so welcomed at a hotel.  It's the uncompromised quality that sets this hotel apart from others, and competing hotels should take note.

The rooms were perfectly sized, clean, lots of room to walk around and stunning views. The decor is traditional and luxurious, great sheets on the bed, and did I mention the unobstructed views of the water and Statue of Liberty? Haha.

Overall, one of my favorite hotels that I've stayed in.

I love the Ritz Carlton hotel chains.  Always immaculate, staff is always warm and inviting and views are never bad no matter which location you are staying at.

The one thing I LOVE about this particular location in the city is their restaurant.  They offer a $20 tasting menu for lunch and for dinner!  nice selectons and the portions are great too!

My first stay at a Ritz Carlton and I was very unpleasantly underwhelmed.

We were visiting my college daughter interning in the city and requested a double room (long in advance) but didn't get it.  My daughter had to sleep on a cot!  That sure was magical!  Nor did a single double room open on the next day.  Amazing! Our reservations at the Microtel hotel at St. Bonaventure have always kept our double bed requests but the Ritz Carlton couldn't.

The front desk seemed genuinely unconcerned and I never did see a manager during the discussion!

Additionally, housekeeping didn't refresh our bathroom amenities the second day nor were we granted a two O'clock check out (when our car was arriving) meaning we spent an hour sitting in the lobby.  Really?

My daughter was a nationally ranked junior tennis player and we stayed at many,  many nice hotels over those years and I can say that Hilton never treated me with such a cavalier attitude.  I guess I'm just not Ritz material???

You know what you get at this chain of high end hotels, slick lobby, friendly staff , clean luxurious rooms at a price that isn't bananas.

No exception here. Fantastic location on the edge of Battery Park opposite the water. I'd advise to get the harbor view which gives you unconstructed views of The Statue of Liberty. Rooms have a telescope, mini bar ( not too expensive ) and super high count thread linens.

If you stay here it is worth walking the neighborhood, nice families, parks and views to die for....

    My favorite area of Manhattan.

This place is amazing.  Beautiful space, convenient location (if you are going to be downtown or in Brooklyn), and amazing staff.  My husband and I just got married in DUMBO, BK and had two wedding blocks - one in Brooklyn and one at the Ritz-Carlton in Battery Park.  We worked with Brianna Callahan leading up to the event and she was incredible at every step along the way.  She was responsive, helpful, and accommodating.  I ended up needing a few rooms in early August for my bridal shower and she helped make those reservations and got us a special rate because I had booked our wedding block with them.  When we checked in for our wedding, our family and friends all had incredible rooms.  Brianna and her staff went above and beyond for us the entire trip, including but not limited to rose petals and chocolate covered strawberries the night of our wedding. We couldn't have asked for a better experience.  Stay here, and if you are planning a wedding, ask for Brianna!!!  They will take good care of you and pamper you - thanks so much.
