Astoria, NYThis place used to be The Limerick House. Since they took over things have changed. The decor is much nicer and more comfortable. Most of the staff is new. The food is significantly better than it was. Beer and whisky selection is exponentially better. It is more expensive.
I would recommend staying with the downstairs bar unless you know the bartender upstairs and are ok with being very limited with what you can order.
They also have a decent menu at a decent price. You can get a sandwich/burger for around $15. Beers hover between $6-$8. They have lots of good IPA which are all the rage right now.
The music can be a bit loud but not nearly as bad as when it was the Limerick. Everything is a lot cleaner from the bar to the bathrooms. -

New York, NYcame in on a rainy night and sat right at the bar
the bartender wiped it down for us and got my date a wine and a man sitting next to us another beer but ignored me
then she walked down the long bar to stock beers and wipe down other sections
the bar wasn't busy at all; maybe 10 people in the whole restaurant
she finally came back and i smiled at her and asked: "what happened? you disappeared!"
she replied in a very rude tone that i was not the only patron in the bar

New Irish pub. Designed to look old. Lots of dark wood. Long bar on the left as you enter. Twenty stools. Four or five flat-screens tuned to different programs, sound off, no subtitles. 17 beers on tap - but an uninspired selection. Bud, Yuengling, several American craft beers, Guinness.
They have an affordable $10 lunch special - choice of Bud or Yuengling and your choice of several sandwiches, burgers, etc. Not sure but the glass looked to be eight or ten ounces. It didn't look as if it would hold a full 12 ounce can. I tried a Crispin cider for "dessert" which was the same size pour - $6.00. I was surprised that in an "Irish" pub the cider was from California.
Bartender was friendly, efficient. Background music was set low, some American rock - I recognized a Springsteen number.
Not worth a trip, but OK if you are in the area.
There's something wrong about an Irish pub that is not serving pints - if they were on offer the bartender did not tell me. -

Secaucus, NJCame here with a group of friends/family. Great atmosphere. Felt welcomed as soon as we walked in. The bartender Brian went out of his way to ensure the quality of my drink and personally thanked us for coming in when they were closing up. I would definitely come here again and recommend it highly. Just be warned, it is loud. -

Jamaica, NYMiss the Limerick, but not disappointed by its replacement. Brian the bartender is very sweet, but should be a little more attentive to patrons. Quesadilla off app menu was pretty good albeit a tad pricey. -

Queens, NYI've been a regular at this place for about a year... Great place to rub elbows in the hospitality industry. Met really great people over the months, food is great, bartenders are always welcoming... Just a great place to go after work, or just because... Perfect place to meet your friends and just have a chill time. Newly renovated upstairs and downstairs! Huge projectors for games are a plus! Friendliest bartenders in Flatiron!
