Crack Smoking Mayor More Popular Than Obama- Huffington Post

Crack-Smoking Mayor Rob Ford More Popular Than Obama, Congress

Posted:
He's admitted to smoking crack cocaine and buying illegal drugs; he's been videotaped threatening to kill someone, and he's been stripped of most of his authority. But despite all that, Toronto's embattled mayor Rob Ford is still more popular among his constituents than American leaders are among theirs.
According to a new Forum Research survey of 1,049 Toronto voters, Ford, who admitted to using crack in a "drunken stupor" on Nov. 5, has an approval rating of 42 percent. The Telegraph notes that though this is "a two point drop from two weeks ago, it is up from the 39 [percent] approval rating he had before he admitted smoking crack cocaine."

In contrast, President Barack Obama's approval rating has fallen to an all-time low this week. According to a CBS poll released Wednesday, only 37 percent of Americans approve of the job the president's doing in the White House -- a nine-point drop since October.

Ford is also more than fives times more popular than Congress. According to HuffPost Pollster, Congress currently has, on average, a 7.5 percent approval rating.

Still, though Ford's popularity hasn't taken too much of a hit, it seems that most of Toronto wants him out of office anyway. According to the Forum Research poll, six in 10 Toronto voters want Ford to resign.
