I love Anthropologie.  If I had disposable income I would shop here all the time.  They have adorable clothes and the accessories are darling.  So expensive though.

The sale rack downstairs have cute clothes and other knick-knacks.  The sales in general are great and I'm still kicking myself for not getting this great bracelet-watch duo when it was on sale.

Overall, it's fun to come browse for cute clothes and ideas here.  I love the atmosphere.  Great place for random gifts too.

    WOAHHHHH attitude adjustment please?!

I love Anthropologie stores but the people working the dressing room at this location were so rude!

They have their discount booth on their downstairs all year around. Every time I go there, I could get some items for good deal.

This is one of the better Anthropologies in NYC. The other is at Rockefeller, but that gets crowded at all times of the day. I discovered that I'm addicted to jewelry here...

i have been going to this Anthropologie for years. It is big and spacious but they tend to "hide" the clothes on tables with tiers. You literally have to look in every cubby hole on every table for clothes because not all styles are out in the open. Kind of a weird way to shop.

The customer service is good and the dressing rooms are spacious.

I feel a lotta dumb writing a review for a chain (my Bloomindales, BB&B, French Connection, and Container Store reviews aside...) Ya know what, though? I shop here a lot. And thus, Anthro deserves a review.

It has taken me about five years to embrace this store. What changed, you ask? An increase in my disposable income. Or, more accurately, what I wrongly perceive to be an increase in my disposable income. Last week I came into this store and dropped $370ish on, um, two blazers, one blouse, a hand towel and an umbrella. I could have walked into Nordstrom Rack, spent the same amount of money, and walked out with the whole store. Could I afford this? No but that's not the point. The point is that the items I purchased were adorable and unique enough that  I didn't feel so bad forking over the cash for new wardrobe pieces.

The month prior I spent half that on various home furnishings for my apt (online). The week before that I spent the same amount on even more home furnishings (in the store). Now my bedroom looks like Anthopologie threw up faded girlie swirlie rufflie stuff all over the place. I even had an old dresser restored with Anthropologie knobs. It's so freaking adorable that I catch myself staring at it with the same heart-shaped pupils generally reserved for puppies, kittens, and little old people holding hands.

I like to go to other places for one-of-a-kind decorative stuff that you can only find in New York (try M&G Merch in Brooklyn or any genuine vintage store in the city), but for your basics -  duvet comforters, pillows, coffee cups, dishes, pretty kitchen stuff - this is a great place to go if you like the bobo look.

    PS- They have great wallpaper.

I agree with Margie. This one is the best.

It has a clear layout that is easy to navigate, with the new additions in the front and housewares in the back.

Downstairs is a treasure trove of a healthy sale section for clothes and housewares and jim-jams and undies.

The fitting rooms are spacious and even have a cozy bench for the guys who are too wimpy to get out of shopping with their girlfriends. Srsly ladies. It's just mean.

I am taking a star due to the fact that on one of the days it was SO hot in the last 10 days this store had their front door wide open. When I mentioned this to the greeter she kind of shrugged sheepishly. (I know this is not her descision but really?!?! I call 311 when this shit goes down)

This location has had an upgrade and they have shifted where stuff is and everything is pretty well organized and makes sense. I am guessing they are going to make these changes to all the stores.

I pretty much head straight to the sale racks-the mark up on everything is insane but the sale prices are good. If you see something down there I say get it in a two week period I saw all the stuff I looked at from one visit totally gone by the next time I stopped by.

Love letter from a lover spurned...

O, how I adore your candles. They smell delicious and burn so bright. But, darling why must they be $42?

I love your blouses. Colorful, knit and patterned. Wait, why are these blouses $150?

I love your cups, those pretty gem-colored vases and it's simply unfair to deny me the little plates with sparrows painted in the center. What if I just buy one now... And the next paycheck I'll get the pair?

Oh, Anthropologie. I love your little earrings and necklaces, adorned with crystals and lace, so sweet and perfect...

    Fuck it, I'm buying them.

Yo, your clothing looks great off.

    But really, fuck this place.

    The line is insane.

    The clothing is fucking weird.

I mean, there is no way that I am a size 4. The size 6 SWIMS On me. The size 4? Squishes my tits.

No. Thank. You. No way am I paying $70 for a dress that is ON SALE, and then paying to get that shit altered! NO FUCKING WAY.

This is my absolute favorite store when it comes to apparel, accessories, furniture etc.   Seriously!!! If I had about $20,000 extra to spend I'd buy some crazy furniture, dishes, glasses, decorations etc to lavish my apartment with.  Don't get me wrong my apt is pretty cool. When I walk in Anthroplogie something just takes over me and I want to just buy, buy, buy!!
Ohhhh and the clothes, my goodness.  Everything about it says meeeee, it's just my style.  Don't get me wrong it's not that crazy expensive, but my problem is I have a hard time just buying one thing, but I've gotten better. I've learned some self control.  I can now go in and pick up a cute sundress or sweater and be satisfied.  I also make sure it's something that will last me a few seasons, so it's totally worth the purchase.

I usually try to avoid writing reviews for chain stores and restaurants because what's the point? They're usually all more or less the same. That being said, I would like to award this store as my favorite Anthropologie in Manhattan. This store doesn't have their shoe line which the other 3 locations do but I don't really come for the shoes. What sets this Anthro apart from the others is the HUGE sale section. At least 3/4 of the basement floor is all sale stuff. I've scored some great finds and deals scouring the basement. I usually come on Sunday morning to avoid the rush. But I have come the day after Thanksgiving before, and it was brutal.

I also think it's worth it to get the Anthro card. The perks are kinda ambiguous but receipt free returns are good enough for me!
