The Book of Ash: Something Inspired by Kurt Vonnegut and George Orwell

New writers usually find it very difficult to get anyone to pay much attention to their work.

While John McCaffrey has been writing for a while, he is still in the "new category.."
I know him in his role as fundraiser and publicist for the Training Institute for Mental Health in New York.

"The Book of Ash" is now #40 on Amazon's list of "Dystopian Novels," which means they are about a future that is NOT "Utopian."

I have ordered John's book but my copy hasn't come yet. I will write my review when I have read it, meanwhile

The Book of Ash

A satire of feel-good therapy, presenting a post-apocalyptic dystopia where the peddlers of self-esteem often mask raging insecurities and homicidal urges. Struggling to survive (and just maybe find happiness) amidst the chaos is Baldwin Wallace, a 33 year-old miracle counselor whose marriage is crumbling under the weight of his wife's infidelity. When Baldwin finally decides to confront the issue once and for all, he is thrown into a dizzying swirl of events that not only threatens to change the future of this surreal world, but also bring him the one thing he thought he could live without: love.(less)
