I like this Outback. Best tasting one I've been to and I've tried the ones in Edgewater, Yonkers and Bayside. This one's the best tasting one. Quiet atmosphere. At least every time I've been there.

Cell phone reception in here sucks though. As far as the internet goes. I haven't tried to have a phone conversation in here.

Ok... The only reason this place gets any stars is because the food is consistently delicious. My gf and I are obsessed with Outback and eat it at least once a month. We have gone to this one probably 6 times in the last 5 months Only 1/6 times have we had anything above awful service.
One time I found a receipt under my steak and asked for a manager, and nothing was done. I had to find the manager myself and even then, he just told me to not worry the receipt paper is food safe. I don't care man... there is still a receipt under my steak. He didn't take the food, replenish it, or even comp anything. I never expect to get things comped when I dine out... but come on dude... there is a receipt under my steak.
Hopefully there is another Outback in the city, because I'm still obsessed but don't really want to put myself through another experience like this. So food, stay delicious, and everyone else please step up the unenthusiastic inconsiderate service.

I went here yesterday for my birthday with two of my friends.  We start off all right and get our app and dinner in a timely manner, but right after delivering our dinner, our waitress disappears.  For over 30 minutes we are wondering what happened to her and we were even joking that she must have gotten mauled by the kangaroos and went home.    Finally after staring pretty hard at the other waitstaff, one of them actually stops at our table!  We manage to get more water and when she returns with more bread, we ask what happened to our waitress.  She tells us that "she left" and that she, the new waitress, was suppose to to cover our table then walks away from us!  I have never had a waitress leave and not inform the table that there were going and who the other waitress was!  Our "new waitress" didn't even apologize for not checking up on us even when she knows we were looking for our original waitress!  I really like the food at Outback, but the service turned me off.

The food is what you expect for a chain.  Overpriced for NY food.  And the bloomin' onion was gross.  I had remembered it being so much better as a kid.

Our waitress was very friendly and attentive enough.  However, we would go on without seeing her for a LONG time.

What IS GREAT about this location however is that it has an A rating for sanitation.  The place was very very clean and spacious!

I felt like I was back in the suburbs.

Having been to this location twice; I would put the review right in the middle.

The first time was very mediocre, with passable service - the food wasn't bad but we we weren't given bread - even those waiting by the door for a table were given bread!

The second time however was much better - our server was very friendly, chatty and helpful - the food was very tasty - and we were brought bread!

Overall, Outback is one of my favourite chains in the States, and this location is a great option in the area, if nothing special.

Outback is my favorite chain restaurant. Has been for years.

This location was ok. But not better. They never brought any bread (and I looove the bread). Our server was alright. Not a great night but I'm willing to chock it up to an off night. We'll likely be back. The Bloomin' Onion has powers...

The great thing about this place is that it can accommodate a large group easily. This outback is great because it is on 23rd street, easy to get friends together for dinner or drinks. What can i say about a franchise steakhouse? you're going to get a franchise food, don't expect to get the best steak you've ever had at steakhouse. This place is great in that it has deals all the time is consistent. Great place to get people together, but not the ideal place to get a great steak.

Best Outback I have ever been to. Idk what these other folks are thinking??! The service is friendly and timely, and the food is delicious. They KNOW their food! I love this location. If you are looking for a laidback joint to have drinks and eat some good food and NOT break bank, this is the place to go!

Consistent.  I really like their well-seasoned fatty juicy ribeye and Caesar salad.  So many other places in NYC are disappointing, but I can count on this chain restaurant to deliver a good meal when I've been wronged elsewhere.  Bloomin' Onion, oh yeah!

Its pretty much what you should expect from a Chain Steak House.

Steak didn't come as ordered. Friendly service but meh feeling.  I tend to never go to chain restaurants as you can see from my history. But I had this weird craving of Bacon Cheese Fries after 10 year of originally having them down in Tampa, FL.

I had burgers on two occasions in the past month, which were decent.  Nothing special though.  The fries were on the soggy side, but came with a tasty dipping sauce.  I also had the grilled shrimp appetizer, which was cooked perfectly.  Overall, the food was okay, but I thought the meal was a little pricey.

Service was a little slow, but friendly.

Hard to recommend this place with the Shake Shack just a few blocks away.

As my first review said I am a fan of Outback but after todays visit I have decided the service here is absolutely horrible! Bedua, is probably the most unfriendly person server I have ever had. The first time I went there and she was our server I gave her a break, thinking maybe she was just having a bad day but today was no better- after her walking by atleast 5 times looking at my guest and I's empty glass my guest asked for a refill as she quickly passed by not even stopping, to say sure, she came back with 1 refill and did not say anything about my empty drink..... pathetic. 10 minutes latter I finally had to ask a manager. Its not fun eating with a bone dry drink. It was 3 in the afternoon cant even imagine the service you may get at busy hours. I would skip this one over on the "go-to's"

I've been to this Outback Steakhouse about 2 times now. The second time was last Friday. Good thing I got there before 6PM and it wasn't that crowded yet. As we were leaving, the dinner crowd started piling up at the waiting area. Of course it is a busy night for the restaurant being it a Friday night and in Chelsea.

The waitress brought us the bread and OMG, I forgot how good their bread was! LOL!

I ordered a burger with the fries. It was pretty good. It was different since it had the fried onions in the burger along with that sauce that I can't remember the name of right now that has a slight tangy and spicy taste to it.

He ordered a steak medium rare and it looked pretty soft and juicy. It came with some veggies.

I had also ordered a drink in the beginning when ordering the food, Sailor Jerry something. It had Malibu Coconut Rum in it, which is why I ordered it. But I never got it even when we were half way done with the entrees. The girl came by and we told her and she knew and realized she totally forgot about it and she said "don't worry, it's on the house." That was nice of her. And in the end when we asked for the check, she asked if we would like a free dessert on the house too because she forgot the drink. We felt bad and just said "no it was okay." She was dealing with a big party next to us of about 6 people or so, so we can understand that she may forget something.

Total came out to about $40 or so. Not so bad.

Before Sandra F. and I did our fun night at the Angelika, we decided to stop here for dinner for two main reasons. They are (in order): One, she had a coupon and Two, it was pretty much on the way. I didn't even realize there was an Outback on 23rd St.

This place was perfectly fine. I really wanted their aussie cheese fries, which are pretty much so good you don't need to eat anything else. Sandra got some sort of lobster steak combo deal, and I got a California chicken salad. My salad was kind of funky tasting - not entirely in a bad way, I just wouldn't recommend and I wouldn't get it again. They do drench their salads in dressing (like DRENCH), so it might be worth asking for it on the side.

We had kind of a big dude southern waiter. He was fine. I tried to joke around with him, but he wasn't really having it. It was also St. Patrick's Day- they were full, but not really busy. Someone had been wheeled out on a stretcher when we first came in, so maybe he was stressed about that? I feel like my fine comedy gold fell on deaf ears.

If given the choice, I would recommend the one in midtown east over this one. I like the bizarre basement feel of that one and I just think the staff was nicer based on that one visit I took there. Outback is a weird thing I won't often go to in NYC though, so I guess it doesn't matter. Sandra and I still talk about the margaritas we got - I got that weird skinny one.

I'll give it my endorsement. Not a ringing one, but I had a fine meal here.

Stepping into this Outback is like stepping out of NYC and into your favorite suburban mall. Love it. After a stressful day at work my friend and I passed by and thought, "we could use a break from the hustle."

We sat at the bar and had a Watermelon 'Rita (with tequila avion!) which is awesome -- great summertime drink. For dinner we split the Chicken Artichoke flatbread which was delicious. Oozing cheese and all.   Random assortment of people makes for great people watching.

Bartender and hosts were very nice. Music was not too loud. Overall vibe is relaxing.

We are Australians and we went here for lunch for the novelty factor but ended up enjoying it a lot. Our server was really nice and friendly and we thought the food was great although a little bit expensive for what it was (but its New York so we weren't expecting it to be cheap).

I had the 6oz Outback special with a dressed baked potato and a side salad. Everything was really good especially the croutons in the salad and when we asked if we could have some more our server promptly came back with a small bowl full!

My husband had the 14oz ribeye steak with Aussie fries. Despite the fact that we call them chips in Australia they actually tasted like the ones you get at home from the takeaway shop! We were amazed and wondered how they did that. After almost 6 months of travelling we haven't had chips that taste like that!

A 4-star rating is generous.  But we had such a great and amazing server that the experience was truly heightened!

I'd just finished singing next door with my professional caroling group, and me and the gals had a huge hankering for a big ole Bloomin' Onion!  So we popped in.

We had no idea that the hostest had seated us with a server who was at the end of her shift!  And of course we order the food that takes the longest to prep/cook.  OH NO!

Why was our server amazing??  We had no idea of this situation until we were well into our meal and realized we were her only table in a relatively full restaurant.  So we inquired, she told us, we felt horrible and started to rush our om nom noming, she was uber gracious and pleasant, told us to take our time, and just went about her side work while waiting for us to enjoy our food.

Now THAT is the kind of service you want to get everywhere!  Outback is SO not a place I would normally ever go, especially in NYC.  But after service like that, I'd be prone to choose this dining option when in this area of town.
