Manhattan, NYBetween the 2 tours, this should be 4 1/2 stars. We took a one hour "Views from the Past" promenade through the heart of Central Park yesterday. I promise, even if you've lived in the city for many years, you'll be drawn to things you've never noticed before. Excellent tours and guides in the Central Park Conservancy.
We heard the history and learned about how and why Frederick Olmsted and Calvert Vaux were chosen from a myriad of prospects to be the designers of the Park. The tour included the Dairy, the sheep meadow, the Mall and Bethesda Fountain.
The conservancy has very interesting and knowledgeable guides, however, our guide had forgotten his historic photo album of these areas and what they used to look like in years gone by.....the reason I gave this tour 4 stars.
Went on the Memorial Day Walking Tour today and it was a 5 star tour. They only do this tour twice a year and it's worth it. I never knew there were so many statues and markers honoring our soldiers.
A lovely way to spend an engaging afternoon in the park!
Highly recommended for tourists and New Yorkers. -

Kentfield, CAExcellent tour! Our guide Louise really knows her stuff. She was extremely informative.- what a fascinating history lesson. Wish we we're staying in NYC longer so we could go on more of theses conservancy walking tours. Thank you conservancy for offering such a high quality tour! -
